The photo above is a mirror view of the skyline I usually see when roaming Chicago's lakefront. The south side is my favorite and my home, but on a carefree Saturday, I decided to travel north and ended up at Montrose Beach.
Taking iPhone photos is one way I inspire creativity within myself. With this one, I was fortunate to capture a beam of sunlight shining directly onto the downtown area of my beloved city, which so beautifully communicated the way I've been feeling about Chicago lately. This city is pregnant with artistic talent and fresh innovation.
My photo snapping adventure to Montrose Beach also inspired the below poem. Enjoy!
…entranced by undulating waves and the spotlight of sun filtered through sky blessing my city. Tiny glimmers of sunlight reflected off water are millions of sparks of pure energy.
Each one is the universe. Or, is each an age? Anyway, they are the purpose for all of this. And also the thing that prevents it all from spiraling into oblivion.
What are they, exactly? Immaterial. Intangible.
Could I paint them? Could I capture the scene well enough to truly convey the wonder in instantaneous flickers of eternity...
